Things Unknown

I wish my teacher knew that I learn best by writing things down with pencil and

paper. When I write things down I tend to remember my homework and lessons taught during class substantially more. I tried remembering my homework a bunch of different ways from just thinking of it until the end of the day, to emailing myself anything that had to do with homework, and none of them worked. I about gave up and told myself I was going to forget at least one homework assignment a week but then I saw a friend jotting down quick little homework reminders on the Notes app. I then proceeded to try doing this for 2 weeks and it worked! I am still doing my homework that way this year and hoping for less missing assignments.

I wish my teacher knew that I like working individually on assignments and class

work way more than working in a group. I say this because I feel like every class we do group projects or fairly big formative work, I get paired up with people who just don’t care and aren’t a big help. This may come around as snotty and like I’m complaining but the truth is that I can’t learn very well with someone who just takes all of my answers and only corrects their own. They just assume that I don’t make mistakes, which is nice of them, but I want to keep learning at all times. I want to get a answer wrong. I guess I just want to be challenged in all my work so that I can learn to become what I strive for.

I wish my teacher knew that my dream career isn’t to play a professional sport, it is

to be a surgeon of some kind. So to become a surgeon I need to go against the flow a bit when it comes to schoolwork. I have to and will care about the 5 point formative bell ringers because it could be the difference between an A- or an A, an A- or a B+. Medical school is hard to get into and I want to have the best chance I can get.

So now you know way more about me than you knew before and I just hope you

uses this to help me do the best I can.
